Profile
Mildred, or Millie, was hired by the wealthy Allison familyand booked aboard Titanic as as second class passenger. She shared a cabin with Amelia Lemore, Elizabeth Nye and Selina Cook.
She was reluctant to rise from her bed when George Swane, the Allison family chauffuer, told the ladies to get dressed and head to the boat deck. It was Selina Cook who remonstrate with her that she was the only person on the boat who was still in bed.
Mildred boarded lifeboat 11. She spoke of the lifebaot being surronded by icebergs.
She slept on the dining room floor for two nights on the Carpathia as they endured a thunderstorm and travelled through dense fog. Her employers did not survive the disaster. She woudl eventually return to Britain and she lived out her life without giving any further interviews about her experiences.
