The quarter finals mean that we are able to concentrate on a single match each day. The 2020 event has seen some shocks and surprises and this means the 8 remaining songs are an unfamiliar line up for this stage of the competition.




 


Quarter Final 1 : 18th December

Driving Home for Christmas- Chris Rea 71% v 29% The Christmas Song- Nat King Cole


Chris Rea was given the wild card first seed and is now assured a semi final berth. Having overcome defending champions Roy Wood & Wizzard. In the end Nat King Cole's Last 16 victory over immensely popular Wham! was no match for the home bound Rea


Quarter Final 2 : 19th December


Mariah Carey in defiant mood has brushed aside Darlene Love to sweep into into the semi finals with a crushing victory.


Merry Christmas Everyone - Shakin Stevens 54% v 46% Stay Another Day - East 17


The peoples final as it has been dubbed, as the 2020 powerhouse that is Shakin Stevens took on the ultimate giant killer East 17. There can be only one....


The evening session of this match will go down in history as one of the most intense contests ever. Records were smashed.


A contest that ebbed and flowed throughout the day with several record breaking vote runs that in the end saw Shakey emerge victorious. An exhausting and emotional affair that sets up Shakey up against Elton or Dean Martin in the semi final
