Updated: Jan 24, 2021

The Dambusters of 617 Squadron were made famous by the film of the same name. On the seventy fifth anniversary of the suicide mission to attack Germans dams with audacious engineering and obscene flight and navigation skills, Bulldogz bring you the story of one of the most iconic missions of World War II

The Impossible Mission by Robert Taylor

The Dambusters film has captured the imagination of young and old, the story of the astonishing RAF precision bombing raid on Ruhr valley dams in a bid to brig German industrial capacity to heel. . It continues to cast a spell over those who watch it, the incredible effort to fly Lancaster bombers across occupied Europe at the height of a two-storey house, in the dark, under fire, was an invitation to certain death. The men of the newly formed Squadron took on the challenge with pragmatism and determination.

2018 is the 75th anniversary of the raid and Bulldogz proudly present our brief introduction to the story of these fearless men that made the impossible happen. More detailed information on further resources available at the History of Manston website
